The Lord has blessed Nancy and I greatly through the entire process of building Glory Studios. From the finances through to the amazingly talented builder, Shawn Kelly, who put his heart into the project every day. Throughout the building process, we were very clear with everyone, especially ourselves, that we had no idea how God would use this facility. We were open to the fact that we could be building a beautiful recording studio that ends up being full of sleep cots or fold out beds, or desks and chairs, we really had and still have no idea. That said, God is already intervening nicely, and regular Bible study/discussion group is happening in there every Wednesday evening. I have also held several successful group classes for youth on 3D Character creation for animation, games and graphic design, . These classes have them creating video game characters rather than just playing video games. This series of classes is very exciting for me, as I have recently become quite interested this type of 3D art myself. I get to share this with others!!!
The studio facility is set up as a professional recording and music production room with all the toys and instruments I've been gathering over the years. It has never been my intent to use it as a 'for hire' studio, but rather a place where creativity can abound. I also hope for it to be a comfortable place for education. I am an educator, and that stands true whether it be music, recording, graphics or Scripture. I believe God has called me to be a teacher, and for that reason alone, I am thankful for having this beautiful, little piece of Heaven on earth, provided by and being used for His Glory, which is why I call it Glory Studios.
I have no plans to use Glory Studios for my individual guitar lessons, and continue to rent the teaching studio at Guitar Nuts Music Shop in Bancroft, Monday through Thursday. I do however have plans, Lord willing to hold many workshops, seminars and classes in Glory. A few of the ones coming up will include; Apple Music, GarageBand, Home Recording, Songwriting, Technology in Worship, and maybe even a Band Camp of sorts. Most of the planned classes will be geared to Youth and or youth and their parents, with the exception of the ones geared towards Worship Technology.
That all said, I too would like to spend some creative time in Glory. I believe that God is birthing a 'new song' in me, and I have all that I need to produce it, most of all, His blessing and encouragement. I can't do any of this without that. However He leads me to use this facility, is the way I want to go, and I've been gifted with a Jesus loving wife that supports and takes part of my daily ministries and vision.
Recently, we have been blessed with two gifts for Glory Studios. First a parent of one of my students provided me with a cello, which I am anxious to learn how to play, and our home church, Bancroft Pentecostal gifted us one of the old upright pianos. The amount of worship music that has been played on that old piano has given it a special character and sound. I've recently had it tuned, and am quite happy with the inspiration I receive when playing it, by myself, in the quiet studio, worshiping God. I love it, and am very appreciative of the gifts that continue to come our way.
